Class projects: Creative and innovative work

Hundertwasser project for year 5 and 6 in a Primary School. 

Using the curriculum as guidance we looked at Hundertwasser and his amazing design ideas for architecture. Each child spent the afternoon designing and making their own house to put together as a town at the end of the day- children were encouraged to work independantly and to value unique and original ideas.

The Green Man project: Claywork

 Working with a class over a period of 4 weeks introducing clay and the firing process, learning techniques and skills as well as having opportunities to play and explore the properties of the clay.

   

Whole School projects

  4 ft x 16 ft mural for the entrance to the school

Each child contributed to the mural by making collage and paintings of their homes in the village 

The sky and the rivers were painted by the younger children who had a great times making textures and patterns in the paint.

Each child hand printed their own sports day T shirts

Small group project: Art piece for permanent display  
School for young adults with Profound and Multiple learning Disabilities 

Each young person contributed to the final piece using materials and techniques appropriate for their ability and enjoyment. We used mosaic pieces, clay work and painted panels for the background of waves and sky. Offering a variety of materials and techniques makes a project really inclusive and satisfying for all.

Curriculum based projects

Dinosaurs: Unique dinosaur excavation trays made by the artist gives children an opportunity to be a real palaeontologists looking for bones.With the excavations trays Claire also provides various age appropriate creative hands on dinosaur art and craft activities.

Portraits project looks at various artists self portraits and styles, and gives students an opportunity to explore various mediums to make their own self portraits. As a trained artist Claire provides tuition and guidance during a skill based workshop, demonstrating the stages of how to go about drawing, painting and modelling self portraits.
